Natural Stone Countertops
Natural Stone Countertops
Natural stone is exactly what the name implies — pulled from the earth, cut into slabs, and brought to you. Every slab is one-of-a-kind. No two pieces of granite or marble are identical.
Granite
The most popular natural stone for countertops. Granite is extremely durable, heat resistant, and available in hundreds of colors and patterns. Its natural variation means every installation is completely unique. Granite requires annual sealing to maintain its stain resistance, but with proper care it lasts a lifetime.
- ✓ Extremely durable
- ✓ Heat resistant
- ✓ Hundreds of colors
- ✓ Requires annual sealing
Marble
Classic elegance. Marble is softer than granite and more susceptible to etching from acids, but it is unmatched for beauty. The characteristic veining and luminous surface have made marble a symbol of luxury for centuries. Best suited for lower-traffic applications, or for homeowners who appreciate the natural patina that develops over time.
- ✓ Timeless, luxurious look
- ✓ Beautiful natural veining
- ⚠ Softer than granite
- ⚠ Can etch from acids
Quartzite
Often confused with quartz (engineered stone) — but they are completely different. Quartzite is a natural stone formed from sandstone under intense heat and pressure. It offers the soft, airy look of marble with durability closer to granite. One of our most popular options, especially for homeowners who love the marble aesthetic but need a tougher surface.
- ✓ Marble-like appearance
- ✓ Very durable
- ✓ Natural stone — unique slabs
- ✓ Requires sealing
Dolomite
Similar in appearance to marble and quartzite, dolomite often features beautiful white and gray veining that catches the eye. It sits at a good middle ground between marble’s elegance and granite’s durability — harder than marble, slightly softer than quartzite. A versatile choice that works beautifully in kitchens and bathrooms alike.
- ✓ Beautiful veining
- ✓ Harder than marble
- ✓ White & gray tones
- ✓ Versatile application
Soapstone
A softer, darker stone with a distinctive matte finish. Soapstone is naturally non-porous, which means it never needs sealing — and it won’t harbor bacteria. Its smooth, velvety texture is unlike any other stone. Popular for both rustic farmhouse kitchens and sleek modern designs. Mineral oil is used periodically to deepen and even the color.
- ✓ Naturally non-porous
- ✓ No sealing required
- ✓ Bacteria resistant
- ✓ Unique matte finish
