Behind the Slab
The Fabrication
Process
We don't hand your project off to a third party. Every cut, every edge, every install is done in-house by our team in Garden City, Idaho.
Why Fabrication Matters
Most stone suppliers sell slabs and send you elsewhere. We're different. At RBG Surfaces, we source the stone, cut it, finish it, and install it — all under one roof. That means no finger-pointing when something doesn't fit, no markup stacked on markup, and no delays because a sub-contractor is backed up.
Vertical integration also means we can catch problems early. If a slab has a fissure that'll cause issues on the countertop, we see it before it's in your kitchen — not after.
How It Works
Slab Selection
Walk our yard and pick your exact slab — not a sample chip, the actual stone that'll go in your home. What you pick is what you get.
Template
Our team comes to your home and creates a precise digital template of your countertop layout. Exact measurements mean exact cuts — no surprises on install day.
CNC Cutting
We use computer-controlled cutting equipment to make precision cuts from the slab. This reduces waste and produces cleaner edges than manual cutting.
Edge Profiling
Eased, beveled, bullnose, ogee — your edge profile is machined to spec. The edge is the detail most people notice first, so we get it right.
Polishing & Finishing
Polished, honed, or leathered — we finish the surface to the texture you chose. For natural stone, this stage also includes sealing where appropriate.
Installation
Our crew handles delivery and installation. We set the stone, seal the edges, and don't leave until it's exactly right. If something needs adjusting, we're already there.
The Tools
Real Equipment. Real Skill.
We run a real fabrication facility — not a garage operation. Bridge saws, CNC waterjet equipment, edge polishers, and a full lifting system for moving multi-hundred-pound slabs safely. The equipment makes precision possible, but the skill of our team makes the difference.
Our fabricators have worked with granite, marble, quartzite, dolomite, soapstone, engineered quartz, porcelain slabs, and Dekton. Each material has its own cutting and finishing requirements. Our crew knows them all.
